Is the mobile web a laptop or a mobile phone? Things are heating up and getting a tad exiting…
I got hit by a thought the other day reading an article in a newspaper
. It restated that while the number of people going online using the mobile phone has stayed the same for years, the internet via the mobile (as an antenna/receiver) is growing at an explosive rate. (In Norway that is.)
So I am thinking.
. we know the limitations of the little handset, the iPhone is revolutionizing it, and activity based solutions are exploiting it’s possibilities to a great extent. But, are Norwegians (or all of western society) getting so used to carrying around their laptop that the evolution will be everybody using there mobiles as antennas everywhere and whenever instead of the mobile itself becoming the arena for interaction with the world?
(and the obvious trend is that there will be no citywide wifi-technology serving up any laptop inside the city limits

. The solution wont be giant wireless providers, but rather small access points to the web, via peoples own personal mobiles. Refreshing. :o)
