Bill Zander and music


Garr Reynolds of Presentation Zen has previously linked to Benjamin Zander but in one of his latest posts also embeds a video of his presentation at TED.

As any lightweight string theory ambassador I am constantly on the lookout for theories in one field to prove instances and events in other fields. Seeing how the whole worlds fits together into this giant puzzle.

In that setting I have always felt that music has a much larger role than it has been given in this modern academic world (reference to Ken Robinson). By that I mean that the inherent qualities of composing, playing, listening and moving to music is so fundamental to us as humans that it is a mere instrument for everything we do.

Understanding how music and sound and beats and rhythm touch and affect people can, I feel, tell us more about the humans we are trying to communicate with every day than tons of business books ever would
