The future of seminars?

If seminars main objective is to transport knowledge from sender to receiver and work as a social hub for networking.. Then why is it’s current format to a large extent limited to lecture hall scenarios and evening dinners with bars?

Is this what seminars can be in the future?

Instead og sitting on your ass getting ones head full of more or less valuable ideas for one or more days, what about taking ones own medicine and immersing the participants in an experience convoluting the principles which one is aiming to transmit.
